Bruno Vrugtman

Bruno Vrugtman has been involved in the mining and processing space for 40 years as a mechanical engineer and moving into project management. His career started with Boart Longyear, Air Liquide SA, Lurgi, Palabora Mining Company, RSV Consulting and finally with DRA Projects.

Bruno has extensive experience in mining and process engineering and is known for completing numerous projects on time and within budget. 

His professional journey has spanned multiple countries, leading and delivering various high-profile mining projects. This international experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of global mining practices and challenges.

His technical proficiency covers a broad range of mining sectors. Bruno's experience in managing complex projects in copper, gold, diamonds, lithium, coal, platinum, and manganese mining projects highlights his ability to adapt to diverse mining environments. Bruno’s competency relates to setting up projects for execution according to PMBOK standards. Responsibilities include managing and controlling all engineering, design, procurement, and construction aspects of projects, encompassing all engineering disciplines. 

Bruno also has 10 years of experience in plant operation and management within the process and gas industries and was chairman of the South African Gas Industries Technical Committee for 3 years.

I am a qualified Pr.Tech Engineer registered with ECSA as well as a Project Management Professional with an excellent knowledge of engineering and design principles, project management and project setup.
